Vera Institute of Justice: Manhattan Criminal Court Resource Center
The Vera Institute of Justice was selected to receive funds under the Criminal Justice Investment Initiative (CJII) in response to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office’s request for proposals to plan a resource center for Manhattan Criminal Court.
With this $150,000 investment, the Vera Institute of Justice is developing a plan for a Manhattan Criminal Court Resource Center that provides a range of post-arraignment sentencing options and voluntary services for court-involved individuals, their families, and others who come into contact with Criminal Court.
This investment is an opportunity for the courts to be a locus for resources, to maximize this contact and opportunity for service.
This investment, along with the other investment and initiatives under CJII, form a comprehensive set of strategic investments that, together, will have a significant, lasting impact on public safety and justice reform in New York City.
