Project Summary

The New York County District Attorney’s Office (DANY) and the Institute for State & Local Governance at the City University of New York (ISLG) are seeking proposals from survivor-led grassroots organizations to provide support to people impacted by domestic and intimate partner violence (DV-IPV) in Manhattan. DANY is engaging ISLG to manage this Request for Proposals (RFP) and to support grantees selected for this initiative.

This RFP is specifically intended to fund survivor-led organizations by supporting needs that help survivors access services, continue to receive support and services, and remain safe. The intent is to strengthen and expand the important work these organizations are already doing in their communities. Funds may be used to enhance and/or expand existing work; reach more people and deepen support; and/or pilot new approaches to meeting survivor needs.

Budget

This initiative offers funding for up to 4 organizations of up to $50,000 each for 6-12 months beginning Fall, 2026.

Eligibility

Organizations meeting the following three criteria are eligible to apply for funding through this grant opportunity:

• Survivor-led organizations, representing survivors of DV and/or IPV (see Appendix A for a definition of DV and IPV).
• Non-profits (e.g., community organizations, faith-based organizations, etc.). Non-profits without 501(c)(3) status are required to have a fiscal sponsor in place, and the fiscal sponsor should serve as the applicant and submit the proposal.
• Organizations that serve residents of Manhattan communities. Organizations may be located in and serve residents of other boroughs; however, applicants must describe how grant-funded activities will benefit Manhattan residents and communities.

Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC)-led organizations, multilingual agencies, organizations lead and/or staffed by people directly impacted by the criminal legal system, and Minority- and Women- Owned Business Enterprises (M/WBE) are also encouraged to apply.

Government agencies (including City agencies) are not eligible to apply.

Unless an addendum to this RFP is issued extending the due date and time, all proposals must be submitted prior to the time and date set forth above.
